BIOGRAPHY
Stephanie Clouse is a mixed-media artist from Denver, Colorado. She received her BFA in Transmedia/ Sculpture with a minor in Creative Writing/ Poetry from the University of Colorado at Denver in 2020. Her artwork has been shown at Pirate Contemporary art gallery and Edge. She has worked on several collaborative immersive installations around Denver, including Natura Obscura at MOA, and Spectra Art Space’s Spookadelia and Spookadelia 2. Clouse is also a member of the Denver-based feminist art collective PussayHaus, who held a studio space at Boxcar gallery on Denver’s Santa Fe Art’s District until the 2020 pandemic forced the gallery to close. She is eager to return to engaging in the local art scene, collaborating, creating, and sharing in community once the pandemic has ended and the world is safer.
In addition to her fine arts/ gallery work, Clouse runs her own small business called Immortal Coil Designs, designing, creating, and selling jewelry and other goods that are made with intention and mindful spiritual significance. She is self-taught in a modern form of alchemy called electroforming as well as silversmithing. A practicer of witchcraft, Clouse spends a lot of time learning about stones, herbs, symbolism, and folklore to create powerful wearable art, spiritual tools, and other offerings. She prides herself on her craftswomanship and use of ethically sourced materials to create mindful, one-of-a-kind pieces charged with genuine and positive energy.
Clouse also dabbles in poetry, music, horticulture, baking, upcycling, interior design, fashion, and any other interest that strikes her fancy on any given day. She is a multipotentialite who can, at times, become obsessed with a new skill or area of study and fixate on it until she feels like she knows most of what there is to know about it. She likes to pull from all of the different things she’s learned to distill ideas and information into something new. She is happiest when she is using her brain and her hands— learning and creating, making positive, mindful change in the world— no matter how small.
