Season of the Witch: Kyanite Broom Necklace with Garnet
This broom necklace is made from a piece of black kyanite and an ethically sourced mink bone electroformed in copper with a faceted garnet. The metal is left raw and shiny and it hangs on a long 30-inch chain. Part of the bone was left unplated for contrast and has been stained by graphite (unintentionally, although I quite love the way it looks). Use this broom for “sweeping” away intrusive or unwanted energy, or in ritual to waft smoke from incense or support spellwork.
Metal: copper— an energy conductor and balancing force
Stones: kyanite— balancing and clearing; garnet— confidence, love, vitality
Other symbolism: brooms have a long, complex history in relation to witches. From using broom handles to apply hallucinogenic “flying” ointments to pagan traditions of dancing with tools to welcome prosperity, to the use of altar brooms for clearing energy from a space or person, brooms cary a lot of significance in witchcraft and the occult.
Note: Copper and copper-containing alloys like brass and sterling silver will change appearance over time and may react with moisture and body chemistry.
Note: Any metaphysical information is provided as an explanation of my intentions for this piece. I do not claim to treat, cure, or remedy any medical conditions. Metaphysical knowledge is not a substitute for medical care.
